Connemaras

Timbercreek Connemaras was established in 2021 with two purebreds bought on a whim in 2019. We bought Oakfield’s Gold Finch and his full sister Oakfield’s Blue Finch. After years of hunting for the perfect Connemara, we finally found not one but two!
Sara’s fascination with Connemaras began in 2003 when Bruce Davidson’s homebred Windswept captured her heart. He was sent to Sara for the winter in Florida to prepare for the Rolex Kentucky CCI****.

In 2020 after a consultation with longtime friend and president of the Connemara Association, Marynell Eyeles, on the quality of Oakfield’s Bluefinch, the Timbercreek Connemara breeding program was launched in support of increasing the availability of the breed in the US.

Along with our purebred Connemaras, Timbercreek also has a mix of warm-blood and thoroughbred lines. Our goal is to breed athletic horses and ponies with incredible dispositions for children and amateurs. Over the years, we have cultivated contacts in the breed around the world. In partnership with Sinead Halpin Manyard we received an incredible opportunity with “Athena.” She was bred to Donna Miller’s ArdCeltic Art. With big eventing lines on both sides of his pedigree, it is no surprise we got a knockout of a filly in Timbercreek June Bug (2023). We expect big things from June! Stay tuned for updates.

Out of Many

Thoroughbred

Bought at Keeneland intended for racing but never started, Out of Many (2019) was retired from training uninjured in 2022. . When she arrived, we spent several months getting to know “Eefa.” She is as quiet as they come and a barn favorite. With her amazing attitude and good looks, we paired her with Donna Miller’s Macho Fear Dun. Eefa is in foal for spring of 2024. To inquire about purchasing in utero please contact us.

Connemara

The one that started it all, “Birdie” is special and not just because of her bloodline! She is a true pony at 14’1, but you would never know it with her huge jump and athletic abilities. We only planned on breeding her once because she is so much fun to ride, but her foals are top-tier, so we paired her two more times with Donna Miller’s COUD'POKER TARTIFUME.

Her owner reports that Birdie’s 2022 filly Timbercreek Spice Finch is likely to be over 15 hands. We expect her 2023 filly, Timbercreek Scarlet Finch, to be the same.

Expected April 2024. The foal will be eligible for a Connemara or Welsh registry. The mare is a lovely young Thoroughbred who is 16’1 with an amazing disposition. The foal is expected to be over 15 hands. A Connemara/tb is almost impossible to find. Secure yours today.

Coud’Poker Tartifume x Oakfield’s Blue Finch

Expected in May 2024. This is the third time we have paired Birdie with Coup’d Tarifume. We expect nothing less than another gorgeous and well-tempered foal. Both dam and sire are true ponies (14’1 & 14’2), but this combo is throwing big. We expect this foal to be well over 15 hands. A purebred with these lines is a rarity, so take the opportunity to secure her next foal.
